Funny old man making ridiculously funny paintings.

I had a studio visit with him a couple of years ago and we talked about traveling, living abroad, and making interesting paintings for yourself even though nobody else seems to care about them. Making the work that you want to see in the first place will eventually be seen by others, too. But avoid making things that disappear in the meaningless mass of nothing.
